| EAGLES NEST
on Shady Bend Airpark is the perfect "get-away" for
pilots who enjoy outdoor activities in the woods or on the historic and
beautiful Suwannee River. This unique, round (14-sided) home sits
elevated in a tranquil, heavily wooded, virgin forest on a private
airpark. Enjoy a restful weekend canoeing, swimming and sunning on the
beach down by the river, bicycling on country roads, sitting in a
rocking chair on the screened porch, relaxing by the fireplace, or
taking an evening stroll under the millions of stars.
While the relaxed atmosphere makes this the perfect place to do nothing at all, the alternatives are difficult to resist. Within a 20 minute drive are dozens of cool, fresh water springs with picnic areas in ancient oak hammocks. Nearby Ginnie Springs is well known by scuba enthusiasts for its world class cave diving, and the crystal clear Ichetucknee River is Florida’s most popular tubing and canoeing river. You may use the jet ski to explore the Suwannee River which is navigable from Shady Bend all the way to the Gulf of Mexico 50 miles away. Or enjoy a day in High Springs with its fine restaurants and antique shops.
