The DC-4 is actually a C-54G (cargo version) converted to a 2000 gallon capacity tanker for fighting forest fires. See photos. Currently, there are two of these based at Porterville: tail numbers 160 and 161. Pictured here is number 161 which has U.S. registration number N82FA. The M-18 Mite in the foreground is N4105.
