Auxiliary Fuel Tank Venting

What's the best way to vent the auxiliary fuel tank? Has anyone ever vented it to the main tank?

Every Mite I've seen has had the aux tank vented thru the cap. Usually with a bent tube brazed to the center and pointed into the airstream. My old Mite used a flush filler door which was really nice looking compared to the cap hanging in the wind.
