Hi guys,

I've been browsing the site for quite a long time, and am considering buying a Mite. In the past I have owned a Mooney M10, TriPacer, Colt, Citabria, C140A, C170B, RV-6A and RV-4. However, with the economy being what it is I've had to downscale my flying a good bit.

Going to look at a Mite soon, and would appreciate any helpful hints and advice. I've got an A&P who is intimately familiar with rag/tube airplanes and has access to a borescope, but I think other than doing spar inspections on Aeroncas hasn't worked with too many wood wing aircraft.

This web site has a lot of material relating to your questions, and found in the articles section. Good luck, and ask more questions later..

Be sure to closely inspect the main and aux. spars which can be seen behind the seat. If there is moisture damage, it usually can be seen. However, close inspection thru inspection plates is essential, and borescope should be used everywhere possible. See other comments on using the borescope on this site.
